The most common complaint that candidates have about their job search experience is that companies never get back to them.
That being said, and with the job market being candidate driven, it is more important than ever to create a positive candidate experience. The interview process should be as seamless as possible. Lay out the process from end to end. Tell your candidates what to expect at each step and an estimated timeline.
Also, make sure they know who their point of contact will be and the best way to contact that person.
Sometimes the candidate is not the right fit, communicate this gently and professionally.
If the candidate is treated with respect at all stages of the hiring process it will create a better experience.
